FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. – A beached whale that washed up on the shore in Flagler County last week has died, Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute said in a tweet on Tuesday .
The Brevard-based nonprofit responded to Gamble Rogers Park in Flagler Beach to help the 15-foot beaked whale.
The institute said it hopes further testing will reveal the cause of the stranding.

Hubbs-SeaWorld Research Institute officials said they responded alongside SeaWorld, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Southeast Fisheries, the Flagler Beach Police Department, Florida State Parks and Rogers Towing.
Video submitted by a News 6 viewer on Friday also shows beachgoers holding umbrellas over the creature and trying to save it.
