Man gets ‘agitated’ by Florida Christmas parade festivities, starts shooting, deputies say

No one was injured, deputies said

A man was arrested Saturday following a shooting incident at a Florida Christmas Parade, according to News 6 partner WJXT.

Douglas Moore, 43, who lives near where the incident occurred at a Middleburg Christmas Parade on 4182 County Road 218, became “agitated” by the parade festivities and decided to shoot multiple times where attendees were participating, deputies said.

A Clay County deputy working the parade heard the gunshots, and other deputies and the SWAT immediately responded.

“I am thankful for the quick response by the deputies who ran towards the sound of gunfire to keep our community safe,” Sheriff Michelle Cook said.

No one was injured.

Moore was charged with six counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm and using a firearm while under the influence of alcohol.
