Police say they learned from interviews that 26-year-old Ta’Shawn Taylor was seen fleeing the apartment.

According to an arrest affidavit, a witness reported to police that a 10-year-old female and the 15-year-old male victim was inside the bedroom with Angela and Lisa Suglam before the shooting happened.

One of the victims reported seeing Taylor exit his bedroom before firing a shot in his direction. The victim told police he believed he was struck and fell to the floor. During the encounter, he told police he saw Taylor walk into the bedroom and fire several shots hitting two of the victims. He said he heard two more gunshots after another victim approached Taylor near a door to the home.

Once Taylor was outside the home, police said the victim and the 10-year-old female ran out of the home and called 911 at a neighbor’s home.

Melbourne police assisted in helping to track down Taylor, whose vehicle was spotted on Babcock Street.

A firearm was observed on the front passenger seat of the vehicle matching the description provided by witnesses, according to the report.

Taylor is facing charges of first-degree premeditated murder and attempted first-degree murder.

He is being held on no bond in the Brevard County Jail.
