Missing autistic teen last seen in Deltona safely found, deputies say

DELTONA, Fla. – Deputies in Volusia County are looking for a missing 16-year-old autistic boy, they announced on Wednesday.

According to a news release, Michael Reed left Pine Ridge High School in Deltona without getting on the bus home.

Deputies said Reed was last seen wearing blue gym shorts and a dark blue sweater with a Pine Ridge backpack.

According to the release, numerous law enforcement units, including Air One, began to search for Reed.

Around 8:14 p.m., the sheriff’s office announced that Reed had been found “safe and sound.”
