Blaze breaks out at home on Mechanic Street

MAITLAND, Fla. – One person was taken to the hospital Thursday morning after firefighters responded to a house fire in Maitland.

Crews were called around 8:15 a.m. to 1122 Mechanic Street, where they found the home engulfed in smoke and flames.

One occupant, who was already outside of the home when firefighters arrived, was taken to the hospital. Firefighters learned after the response that five family members were inside of the house at the onset of the fire, including the occupant who was hospitalized, yet all had exited the structure by the time units got there.
