Runaway 9-year-old found safe in Volusia County after ‘getting in trouble’ Child went missing near St. James Avenue and Whitehorse Street

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 9-year-old reported missing on Tuesday evening in Deltona after running away was found safe, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
In a release , deputies said the child — identified as “Gabriel” — had fled from his mother near St. James Avenue and Whitehorse Street.
“He was upset about getting in trouble and may run if spotted,” the release reads.
Around 8:16 p.m., deputies announced that Gabriel had been found “safe and sound.”
