The First National Bank of Sanford raised the capital to build its new location directly across Park Avenue, in downtown Sanford in 1923. This building is known as the First National Bank No. 2.
Today the structure is unoccupied, leaving behind decades of its banking history, including its vault and teller counter.
This building was the first “skyscraper” of the region and was built in an era of a booming celery industry.
