Man with gunshot wound found dead in Lake County house fire Incident reported on Wood Duck Road in Altoona
LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – A 49-year-old man with a gunshot wound is dead after being pulled from a house that was on fire in Altoona, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they responded to the home on Wood Duck Road around 1 p.m. after neighbors reported that the home was on fire.
According to a news release, fire rescue crews removed a man’s body from the home while they worked to extinguish the fire.

Deputies said they are now conducting a death investigation after it was discovered that the man’s body had an “apparent gunshot wound.”
Officials said the investigation is ongoing.
