Man’s body recovered after ‘possible drowning’ in Indian River Lagoon in Brevard County

COCOA, Fla. – A man’s body was recovered from the the Indian River Lagoon on Tuesday afternoon after a “possible drowning,” according to the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office.
Cocoa police said around 4:30 p.m. on Monday that they were assisting the sheriff’s office in the area of the Hubert Humphrey Bridge.

“Preliminary results of the investigation point to an accidental drowning,” officials said.
Patrol units are assisting Brevard County Sheriff’s Office reference a report of a possible drowning. Traffic on the westbound HH bridge is slow moving. Please use caution.
