ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The pilot of a small plane was killed when the plane crashed at an airfield in northwest Orange County Saturday morning.
The Federal Aviation Administration confirms the Aero AT-4 light sport aircraft crashed while taking off from Bob White Field Airport near Zellwood at around 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

That’s on West Jones Avenue off U.S. Highway 441, not far from the Orange-Lake County border.
The pilot, identified as Thomas Luke CLouse, 72, was the only person on board. He was days away from his 73rd birthday.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
