VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A former co-owner of a karate studio in Orange City is accused of sexual battery with a teen who was a student there, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
Jason Mummaw, 55, was arrested Thursday at his Deltona home.

According to the sheriff’s office, police in DeLand and Orange City were notified in December 2023 of the incidents, which occurred at Mummaw’s home and at All-American Karate studio in Orange City in 2022. Mummaw is no longer a co-owner.
The Volusia Sheriff’s Office obtained an arrest warrant on Thursday and took Mummaw into custody on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and sexual battery of a minor by a person in a position of authority. He faces charges in both Orange City and Volusia County.
According to the sheriff’s office, the victim was a 17-year-old student at the studio.
The sheriff’s office said no additional victims have been identified, but anyone who has information about any other potential cases is asked to contact Detective Bartzer at MBartzer@volusiasheriff.gov or call VSO Investigative Services at 386-254-1537.
