DeLAND, Fla. – DeLand police are seeking the public’s help in finding a suspected gunman who shot and wounded a person early Sunday.
The shooting happened around 12:05 a.m. along South Sans Souci Avenue.

Police said emergency crews were called to area and found a victim with a gunshot wound to the right thigh.
The suspect ran away and was not located, despite a search, police said.
According to police, witnesses stated the gunman came from nearby bushes and opened fire following a brief, unclear verbal exchange.
A detailed description of the gunman has not been released.
No other information about the victim or his or her condition has been released.
