Volusia County deputies seek public’s help in finding unlicensed roofer

PORT ORANGE, Fla. – The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office has issued an arrest warrant for an unlicensed roofer who they said defrauded a customer in Port Orange.

Andrew Ingram,43, of Busy Bee Roofing in Edgewater, faces charges of scheming to defraud and grand theft.

Despite accepting a $21,000 deposit for a new roof in November, Ingram, 43, never applied for the necessary permit, delivered materials, or appeared on any of the agreed-upon start dates, deputies said.

The situation escalated when the victim, frustrated by Ingram’s repeated excuses, demanded a refund. Deputies said the customer never received a response from Ingram after that point.

The Volusia Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information about Ingram’s whereabouts or those who may have fallen victim to his practices to contact the VSO Financial Crimes Unit at 386-254-1537.
