According to an arrest affidavit, a man told deputies he was driving on the Turnpike when he saw a red Lamborghini “driving recklessly, brake checking multiple people and swerving in and out” of traffic.

The man said he flipped his middle finger at the Lamborghini driver, who then pointed a handgun at him before he heard a gunshot, according to the affidavit.

The bullet went through the man’s passenger door, through the seat and ended up lodged in the middle console of his car, officials said.

The suspect, identified as 41-year-old Eduardo Silva, called the Florida Highway Patrol to report a road rage incident. Deputies said Silva admitted to firing a shot because he was in fear for his life, according to the affidavit.

Silva was arrested and faces charges of aggravated assault with a firearm and criminal mischief.
