BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – Over two months after a missing Titusville woman’s charred remains were discovered, investigators have released handwritten notes belonging to the man accused of killing her.

The woman — Jesse Kirk, 72 — was reported missing in early March after she failed to show up for a morning walk with a friend, police said.

Her vehicle was later found on fire in a wooded area of Orange County, nearly 20 miles from her condo.

As part of the case, a former Brevard County corrections deputy — David Barber, 35 — was arrested after investigators said they found him lurking near Kirk’s condo with first- and second-degree burns on his arms, according to investigators.

Since then, Barber has been accused of kidnapping and murdering Kirk, with state prosecutors seeking the death penalty. Court records also show that Barber was under a restraining order for allegedly stalking Kirk’s niece last year.

But on Monday, investigators shared Barber’s so-called “manifesto” with News 6.

Despite the moniker, the document doesn’t actually go into Barber’s possible motives, instead detailing investment plans and a disturbing timeline seemingly related to Kirk’s death.

The document also includes a list of items to buy and gather, such as a rental car, trash bags, bleach, zip ties, vacuum bags, and ratchet straps. Many of these items are crossed out.
