Arrest made after 1 injured in shooting near downtown Orlando LYNX bus station

Shooting happened at 455 North Garland Ave.

ORLANDO, Fla. – One person was shot and injured Tuesday afternoon in Orlando, and an arrest was later made, according to police.

The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m. on North Garland Avenue near the LYNX bus station in downtown Orlando.

According to a news release, officers located a victim at the scene who was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Lucas Araujo, 19, was arrested Tuesday on attempted murder and other charges, according to records.

An arrest affidavit states Araujo shot the victim, who was while riding away on a bicycle.

Araujo faces charges of attempted second-degree murder, tampering with evidence and discharging a firearm in public.
