ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Police Department is asking the public for help after a bronze eagle statue disappeared from downtown Orlando last month.
In a release, police said the statue was taken during a break-in at a law firm owned by a “well-respected attorney who recently passed away.”
The theft occurred near East Pine Street and South Court Avenue, and the statue was last seen on April 19, the release reveals.
“Detectives believe the suspects dumped the statue at a specific location, but it was no longer there when police searched the area,” the release reads. “The statue holds deep sentimental value for the attorney’s widow, and efforts are underway to recover it.”
As a result, police are urging anyone who saw something suspicious or know about the statue’s whereabouts to contact the police department.
