Brevard County deputies ID another suspect in shooting that injured 1-year-old outside Cocoa store

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office identified a suspect in a shooting that erupted outside a Brevard County store and injured a 1-year-old in a stroller.

The sheriff’s office said Lynnard Woods is wanted in connection with the May 13 shooting.

Deputies said three people pulled up to Cocoa Meat & Produce on Burnett Road and got into a shootout with a 17-year-old who was walking with a woman and her 1-year-old child.

According to an arrest affidavit, the 17-year-old recognized one of the three gunmen because he had some kind of problem with the teen’s brother. The child was shot in the leg while in a stroller but they’re expected to be OK.

Detectives said three people so far are facing charges in connection with the shooting.

Deputies did not say how Woods was involved.

The sheriff’s office said its deputies have responded to some kind of incident more than 70 times at the store in the last year, including three shootings.
