‘Criminal alien’ arrested in Daytona Beach over death wish for DeSantis, ‘Trumpers’

Juan Carlos Montiel-Ceron has 12 known prior arrests and convictions, ICE officials said

ICE officials announced that Juan Carlos Montiel-Ceron was taken into custody after a couple of social media posts he allegedly wrote became "Facebook-famous" (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A “criminal alien” was taken into custody earlier this week after a couple of Facebook posts went viral wishing death on Trump supporters, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

In a release, ICE officials said that Juan Carlos Montiel-Ceron, an undocumented immigrant from Mexico, is believed to be responsible for the posts.

“This criminal alien from Mexico recently became Facebook-famous — and a high-priority arrest — after allegedly writing social media spewing hate at Gov. DeSantis and wishing for the death of ‘Trumpers,’" the release reads.

ICE provided two Facebook posts that Juan Carlos Montiel-Ceron is accused of writing, wishing death on Trump supporters and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (Immigration and Customs Enforcement)

As a result, Montiel-Ceron was arrested by ICE Orlando’s Fugitive Operations team in Daytona Beach on Monday, investigators explained.

According to ICE, Montiel-Ceron has 12 known arrests and convictions, including the following charges:

  • Aggravated stalking
  • Retail theft
  • Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon
  • Battery
  • Several motor vehicle charges
