It’s part of the city’s effort to crack down on panhandling. The signs will include QR codes that will take people straight to the city’s website with information about donating to city services and shelters instead of to panhandlers. City officials said at several busy intersections there is a constant presence of panhandlers, which they say is not safe for drivers or the homeless. “If that happens there will be a lot of people that won’t get anything and they’ll go hungry,” he said.

Acura put forth a pair of entries with Michael Shank and Wayne Taylor, who partnered only last month with Michael Andretti. Daytona Beach NAACP president Cynthia Slater said more than 100 students from the neighborhood are now considered homeless. Slater said these students aren’t necessarily living on the streets, but they can still be considered homeless if they’re in a temporary or shared space with other families.

Kay is charged with kidnapping, armed burglary, aggravated child abuse and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
