DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The body believed to be that of a missing 17-year-old from Orlando has been recovered after a more than 12 - hour search in Daytona Beach, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
Officials say the teen went missing around 7:30 p.m. Friday after getting in the water, and a search got underway.

Daytona Beach Safety officials say one of their jet skis was on the search, and the Coast Guard assisted.
Officials say a lifeguard saw the teen struggling in a rip current before he disappeared.
Beach safety officials say a girl who was with the teen was rescued.
It comes after the Volusia Beach Safety Patrol says another man drowned off the coast Friday night.
In a social media post, Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood reminded people to swim near lifeguards.
He said rip currents are dangerous and nearly 200 people were rescued from the water Friday.
The sheriff’s office added: If you’re caught in a rip current, don’t panic. Try to conserve energy and swim parallel to shore until you’re out.
