If you’ve been hoping for a break from the heat in Orlando and across central Florida, you’ll need to hang on a little longer another round of summer-like weather is ahead, with daytime highs expected to reach the low to mid-90s through the weekend.

Tomorrow's forecast

A new weather pattern is on the horizon as a cold front sitting north and west of central Florida is expected to bring in abundant moisture. Rain chances are forecast to climb slightly as the sea breezes begin interacting over the peninsula. There’s a 30 to 40 percent chance for showers and thunderstorms on Friday and into the weekend.

While Thursday evening is expected to remain dry with mainly clear skies, clouds should increase overnight as the cold front draws closer. Spotty morning showers are possible, but the best chance for storms will come later in the day as the Gulf and Atlantic sea breezes collide over central Florida. Pack that umbrella or rain jacket if you have weekend plans.

If you’re planning Mother’s Day celebrations, be ready for another hot stretch. Pinpoint Weather shows forecast highs in the 90s this weekend.

The good news? There’s a bit of a cool down forecast for the work week ahead, with highs falling back into the upper 80s by Wednesday and Thursday. Rain chances look to decrease after the weekend, with more classic May sunshine likely for the second half of the week.
