Michelle Morgan joined the News 6 Pinpoint Weather team in May of 2023 as the weekend morning meteorologist.
Michelle joined the News 6 team from WWL-TV in New Orleans. She spent her time in “The Big Easy” exploring the culture, eating the delicious cuisines and, of course, Mardi Gras with her family. But Central Florida is home, and she is excited to finally make it back here.
While working in New Orleans she has covered tornadoes, floods, tropical storms and hurricanes, including Hurricane Ida, which devastated parts of Southeast Louisiana. And before WWL, she handled forecasting as well as traffic in Richmond, Virginia, and Great Falls, Montana.
In Virginia, Michelle covered tropical storms and Hurricane Isaias and Florence, which spawned about 17 tornadoes in her viewing area. In Montana, Michelle forecasted wildfires, tornadoes, microbursts, droughts and chinook winds. She also experienced the Great American Eclipse back in August 2017, when 90% of the sun was obscured by the moon.
Michelle’s passion for weather came at the age of 7. She grew up in Brooklyn, where she experienced fierce snowstorms and blazing hot summers, but thunderstorms sparked her interest.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Applied Meteorology from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, with an emphasis in research meteorology and a minor in physics.
