1 critically injured in shooting in Daytona Beach, police say Police searching for suspect

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Daytona Beach Police Department is actively investigating a shooting.
Around 12:35 p.m., officers arrived at the 800 block of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Boulevard following a report of a person shot. One victim suffering a gunshot wound was transported to a hospital in critical condition, according to a news release.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. The investigation remains active and ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
Police are asking community members to avoid the area to ensure their safety and allow officers to conduct a thorough investigation.
