Project Kuiper mission launches from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – Amazon’s second Project Kuiper satellite mission launched Monday morning from the Space Coast.

United Launch Alliance launched an Atlas V rocket at 6:54 a.m. from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

The launch sent 27 satellites into low-Earth orbit, bringing Amazon’s total constellation size to 54 satellites.

“Its mission is to provide fast, reliable internet to customers around the world, including those in unserved and underserved communities, using a constellation of more than 3,200 LEO satellites,” the space agency said prior to the launch.

Amazon’s inaugural Project Kuiper launched on April 28.
