WINTER PARK, Fla. – Chicken Guy! has officially closed the doors for good at its Winter Park location, according to a spokesperson for the chain.
In a message to News 6, the spokesperson explained that the location was shut down to better focus on the chain’s regional growth and national expansion through new franchises.
“This includes its most recent openings in Davie and Wesley Chapel,” the spokesperson wrote. “The Disney Springs flagship remains open and will continue to serve our Central Florida residents and visitors. The company thanks the Winter Park team and guests for their support.”
Guy Fieri’s Chicken Guy! first opened in Winter Park back in 2021, met at the time by over a dozen customers lined up at its doors.
But last year, the Winter Park restaurant faced eviction after court documents revealed it owed over $38,000 in overdue rent.
While no information has yet been announced about what business might be taking over the Winter Park property, a new Chicken Guy! location is expected to open soon at a Walmart store in Ocala.
According to the chain’s website, that upcoming Chicken Guy! restaurant is set to be located at the Walmart Supercenter at 2600 SW 19th Avenue Road.
