According to police, Rios had known the woman for a few months prior to the attack, but no further details about their relationship have been released.
Police did not release information about the victim’s condition.
Neighbors in the Villa Marquis community expressed shock and concern about the attack.
“I am very surprised and very upset because we are supposed to feel safe in our own homes, and this has been a very quiet neighborhood,” one resident said.
One neighbor commented on the importance of home security, saying, “I feel really bad, I hope that she is OK. I don’t know if she has a dog or not, but my savior is my dog, because he always barks at everything that goes by.”
