Man arrested after attempted child abduction, Daytona Beach police say

Suspect also faces charge of indecent exposure of sexual organs

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A man accused in an attempted child abduction was arrested with the help of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, according to the Daytona Beach Police Department.

On Monday, Daytona Beach police said 55-year-old Timmothy Hall was arrested in Jacksonville.

In a release on Friday, police released images of the wanted man, who also faces a charge of indecent exposure of sexual organs.

Police said the incident happened on Friday at a business located at 2455 W. International Speedway Blvd.

According to a news release, a family was inside the business when an unidentified man entered. The suspect reportedly exposed his sexual organs before attempting to abduct a child.

Police said “the child immediately yelled loudly, after the suspect grabbed their arm, drawing the attention of nearby individuals. The suspect then fled the scene.”

Hall is a registered sex offender who was previously convicted and incarcerated for lewd and lascivious conduct involving a minor, according to Daytona Beach police. He was booked into the Volusia County jail on Wednesday on charges of attempted kidnapping and lewd/lascivious exhibition and is expected to appear in court on Thursday, records show.
