ORLANDO, Fla. – A 51-year-old Kissimmee woman was arrested, accused of grabbing and pushing a 17-year-old during a parade at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, an arrest report stated.
Orange County deputies responded to an altercation between a 17-year-old girl and Martha Zapata-Echeverri at Disney’s Magic Kingdom on Tuesday night, the report said, where Zapata-Echeverri had allegedly grabbed the teen by the arm and pulled her to the side, causing it to bruise.
Zapata-Echeverri told authorities that she was following her daughter to try to get to the front of the crowd to watch the parade, and the teen was allegedly pushing into her, saying it was “her spot,” officials said.
When asked how the teen received nail marks on her arm, Zapata-Echeverri’s explanation was “unclear,” deputies said, and just “pantomimed” pushing her with an open hand.
The teen was the only one injured, according to the report.
Zapata-Echeverri was arrested and is facing a felony charge of child abuse.
