LEESBURG, Fla. – Schools in four Central Florida districts are receiving resource room makeovers as part of a program designed to create an enriching environment for students.
Each year, the Addition Financial Foundation transforms a classroom in Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Lake Counties.
This year, the focus shifted from individual classrooms to “needs spaces,” which are dedicated areas within schools stocked with food and personal items for low-income students and their families.

“We realized that almost all of the students had access to those rooms,” Program Manager Cassie Roach said. “Once we heard that, we knew that we were going to be able to touch more kids than just a single classroom.”
On Wednesday, volunteers were assembling furniture for the resource room at Leesburg Elementary School.
The school was chosen based on need and with the help of Lake County Public Schools.
“This is really going to allow (our resource teacher) to better serve our students,” Principal Kacy Wolfe said. “Our families will come in and have an easier process to get what they need.”
The schools selected for the 2025 Renovate to Educate program are Leesburg Elementary (Lake County), Engelwood Elementary (Orange County), Lakeview Elementary (Osceola County), and Millennium Elementary (Seminole County).
The renovations take place over the summer, with Addition Financial Credit Union teaming up with Interior Design interns from Seminole State College to transform and organize the spaces.
The Foundation will also fully stock the rooms with food and supplies.
Once finished, the renovated classrooms will be revealed to the chosen teachers August 5-7.
