VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A Deltona man is accused of having sex with a girl who was 14 years old at the time, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
Chance Haas, 41, was arrested Tuesday.

According to an affidavit, deputies spoke with a female on May 24 who said she and Haas had sex multiple times when she was 14 years old and he was in his early 30s.
The victim told deputies Haas had been her family’s close neighbor and that the abuse started as kissing and progressing to having sex at least once a week, the affidavit reads. She told deputies this happened for several years, from when she was 14 to when she was 17.
According to the affidavit, the victim told deputies Haas recorded them having sex, including times she was not aware he was recording.
When the victim began dating someone, she did not want to continue having sex with Haas and he became upset, raping her “numerous times,” the affidavit states.
She told deputies that Haas last attempted to get in contact in October 2024.
Haas faces charges of sexual battery and lewd or lascivious battery.
The sheriff’s office said additional charges are possible.
