Skydiver dies in hard landing in Brevard County

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – A skydiver died Saturday after a hard landing during a charity event in Brevard County, sheriff’s officials said.

The 58-year-old Georgia man made a hard landing around 5:15 p.m. near the Crowne Plaza Melbourne-Oceanfront hotel off State Road A1A, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, officials said.
