Apopka woman says driver pulled gun during road-rage incident

Hailey Miller, 25, faces charge of aggravated assault

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – An Apopka woman said a road trip to the springs with her family turned terrifying after another driver allegedly pulled a gun on her during a road rage encounter.

Ava Hubble told News 6 that the incident happened on Thursday morning while she was driving along West Kelly Park Road. She said a white SUV swerved into her lane, prompting her to honk her horn.

“She sped in front of me and went across me on a double yellow line and was just really angry,” Hubble said.

Hubble said the situation escalated further at a traffic light near Rock Springs Road. When the light turned green and the other driver didn’t move, Hubble said she tried to go around, and that’s when things took a dangerous turn.

“She tried to hit my car and run me over,” Hubble said. “Then, she rolled her window down and pulled a gun out. She was trying to shoot at me.”

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Hailey Miller in connection with the incident. She’s charged with felony aggravated assault with a firearm.

According to deputies, Miller was taken to the Orange County Jail but has since bonded out. During her court appearance, a judge ordered her not to possess any weapons and to have no contact with the alleged victim.

Hubble said she was surprised at how quickly investigators found Miller, adding that deputies contacted her just five hours after the incident to make an identification.

“Please get some help and I pray for you,” Hubble said in a message to the suspect. “You just did that out of nowhere, for no reason. I’m an innocent woman and you wanted to take your anger out on me and that’s not right.”

No injuries were reported.
