Angelica Sanchez Bautista faces child neglect charge

ORLANDO, Fla. – A 19-year-old woman was arrested Friday on a charge of child neglect after her newborn was found abandoned earlier this week in the driveway of an Orlando home, police said.

Angelica Sanchez Bautista was arrested by the Orlando Police Department.

The baby was found Monday morning in the 5500 block of Lido Street, said police, who added that the infant was in good health.

Police said detectives were able to identify the child’s parents during an investigation, but there is no evidence that the child’s father was aware that Bautista abandoned the child.

Bautista waived her first appearance in court Saturday morning. A judge allowed her bond to stay at $50,000 and appointed a public defender to her case.
