Bear fatally struck along I-4 near Lake Mary

Crash happened around 1 a.m. Friday

A black bear was killed along Interstate 4 early Friday morning, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.

An FWC spokesperson told News 6 that the bear was struck by a vehicle on the eastbound side of I-4 near State Road 46 around 1 a.m., adding the bear was moved to the side of the road by a road ranger.

FWC was then called in to remove the bear, which died from the crash, the spokesperson said.
