1 critically injured in downtown Orlando shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. – A person was shot and critically injured early Monday in Orlando, police said.

Orlando police said officers responded around 1:15 a.m. to a shooting near Westmoreland Drive and Livingston Street.

According to an OPD news release, officers found a person suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

Police said the assailant fled the scene.

No other information was released.
