OCOEE, Fla. – A woman who was shot Sunday by an Ocoee police officer after driving a stolen vehicle toward two officers has died, according to a news release.
Ocoee police on Monday identified the woman as 54-year-old Stacie Lynn Guerrero.
Police said officers were in the area of 301 West Road following up on a stolen vehicle report around 11:30 a.m. Sunday when they located the vehicle in the parking lot near the Publix at the intersection with Ocoee Apopka Road.

“As they approached the vehicle, the driver put the vehicle in motion driving toward the officers. Both officers were struck by the vehicle during the incident,” the release stated.
One of the officers opened fire, striking Guerrero, police said.
Guerrero was taken to a hospital in critical condition and later died, police said.
Neither police officer suffered serious injuries, according to officials.
Ocoee police said that in accordance with department policy, both officers have been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation which will be conducted by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
No other details have been released.
