“I was inside and I heard like two gun shots,” 14-year-old neighbor Emmanuel Garcia told reporters Wednesday. “I went to my room and I looked out the window. I saw some guy, he was jumping up and down. And then he hopped into the car. He swerved onto the grass and then he left.”

Tuesday’s shooting was not far from another street in the park, where a 6-year-old child lost his life in January, when an alleged drunk driver killed him.

“We just don’t feel safe here,” said Faye Honeycutt, a neighbor who recalled Emiliano Garcia’s death in January.
