ORLANDO, Fla. – An Orange County deputy arrested a so-called super speeder Thursday on State Road 417 whom they clocked going 140 mph in a 70-mph zone, according to the sheriff’s office.

Jordan Vactor, 43, was arrested that evening near Lake Nona Boulevard to face a charge of dangerous excessive speeding.

Vactor was allegedly behind the wheel of a Mercedes-Benz that a deputy in an unmarked vehicle began to follow north on S.R. 417 after watching it pass them at around 100 mph, according to his arrest affidavit.

The deputy gradually caught up to the Mercedes-Benz, at one point matching its speed of 140 mph for around 30 seconds on a 70-mph straightaway before a traffic stop was executed in the outside shoulder, north of Lake Nona Boulevard and before Narcoossee, the affidavit states.

Vactor reportedly told the deputy that he was in a rush because he was going to be late for work, according to the document. He has since bonded out, records show.
