St. CLOUD, Fla. – A retired St. Cloud firefighter/paramedic who was arrested Thursday is accused of using the city’s real-time crime center platform to access several camera feeds.
Theresa Sysol, 41, faces seven counts of accessing a computer or electronic device without authorization and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device, the St. Cloud Police Department said in a news release.
Sysol’s alleged activity was discovered during a recent audit of the platform’s users, the release states.
The audit revealed her account credentials had been used to view live video camera feeds between April 2024 and June 2025, any instance of which would have taken place after her retirement in March 2024, the city said.
Police further accused Sysol of using a personal computer and cell phones to access the cameras, according to the release.
One of Sysol’s family members allegedly told police that while he was unfamiliar with the platform, he could recall seeing Sysol “monitoring cameras at the City’s pool while their son was attending the City’s summer youth camp,” her charging affidavit states.
Upon Sysol’s arrest, she “began to spontaneously utter that her son has a heart condition and that she was only trying to ensure his safety and didn’t know the repercussions,” the affidavit states.
Sysol has since posted a $20,000 bond, records show.
