BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. – SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from the Space Coast on Sunday afternoon carrying supplies for the International Space Station.

The launch of Northrop Grumman’s next Cygnus mission (NG-23) to the ISS launched from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station at 6:11 p.m.

According to NASA, the Cygnus XL spacecraft is set to deliver more than 11,000 pounds of “science, research, and supplies* to the orbital complex, including materials to produce semiconductor crystals in space and equipment to develop improvements for cryogenic fuel tanks."

SpaceX said this will be the fourth flight of the first stage booster supporting this mission, which previously launched Ax-4, Crew-11, and a Starlink mission.

Following stage separation, Falcon 9 will land on Landing Zone 2 (LZ-2) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.

On Thursday, SpaceX finally launched a telecommunications satellite from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station after several delays.
