‘Active Investigation:’ Paddlefish at Disney Springs robbed after-hours

No one injured in robbery

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – A man robbed a restaurant early Monday at Disney Springs, according to sheriff’s officials.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said the robbery happened just after midnight at Paddlefish.

The sheriff’s office said an “unknown man entered the business after hours, took some cash and left.”

No one was injured, deputies said.

No other details, including how many people were in the restaurant at the time of the crime, have been released.

According to its website, Disney Springs is home to more than 150 destinations, including shops and restaurants.

On Monday, News 6 saw Orange County Sheriff’s deputies walking around outside and checking out the water.

We got a tip that an armed robber entered the restaurant after it closed, tied up the employees and robbed the place. The anonymous tipster went on to say that the man escaped by swimming across the water wearing a black wetsuit.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office wouldn’t confirm those details, but they did tell us in part, “On Monday, September 15, 2025, around 12:10 a.m., deputies responded to Disney Springs in reference to a robbery. When they arrived, deputies met with the victims who said an unknown man entered the business after hours, took some cash and left.”

Paddlefish Restaurant is part of Levy Restaurants, and they gave us a brief statement that says in part:

“We have no comment; this is an active investigation.”

An investigation is ongoing.
