LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – A man wearing goggles and what appears to be a wetsuit robbed a Disney Springs restaurant early Monday after ordering employees to get on their knees, according to an Orange County Sheriff’s Office incident report.

The robbery happened just after midnight at Paddlefish.

In the heavily redacted incident report, two employees said they were in the manager’s office when a man wearing a mask and all black clothing came in and forced them into a corner before telling them to get down.

One of the employees was depositing cash into a safe when the robbery occurred, according to the incident report.

The man took some cash and left, and the workers said they called 911 about two minutes after he entered the restaurant, the report stated.

It’s not known how much money was stolen, but the incident report lists a potential charge of grand theft in the third-degree, which covers $10,000 to $20,000.

No one was injured, and the thief did not have a weapon nor said that he did, according to the incident report.

News 6 on Monday saw Orange County sheriff’s deputies walking around the restaurant and checking out the nearby water.

Earlier in the day, News 6 received a tip that a man entered the restaurant after it closed and robbed the place. The anonymous tipster said the man escaped by swimming across the water wearing a black wetsuit, but deputies would not confirm those details.

Paddlefish Restaurant is part of Levy Restaurants, which issued a brief statement that said, in part:

“We have no comment; this is an active investigation.”

According to its website, Disney Springs is home to more than 150 destinations, including shops and restaurants.
