From Mount Dora’s scenic cycling rides to Halloween thrills and cultural festivals, we’ve rounded up the best events happening across the region.
🚴♂️ Cycle Mount Dora – 51st Annual Bicycle Festival
Oct. 11–12 | 310 S. Tremain St., Mount Dora, FL 32757
Celebrate 51 years of two-wheeled tradition at Cycle Mount Dora! With seven different ride options, including a metric century, rolling hill climbs, and a family-friendly 10-mile Trimble Park ride, there’s something for every skill level.
All participants receive a finisher medal and festival T-shirt.
Kids 15 and under ride FREE with adult registration!
Hydration and snack refills available at every rest stop — just bring your bottles (no cups provided). All proceeds support youth swim lessons and scholarships.
🧙♀️ Zoo Boo Bash at Central Florida Zoo
Oct. 11–12 | 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Sanford
This family-friendly event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 11–12, 18–19, and 25–26, with the last admission at 3 p.m.
Dress in your Halloween best and trick-or-treat through the not-so-spooky decorated zoo. Enjoy fun games, eco-friendly candy stations, and a safe way to celebrate the season.
Costumes encouraged (yes, adults too!) Activities included with zoo admission.
Annual passholders pay just $5 per person on event days.

🎨💀16th Annual Día de los Muertos & Monster Party

Get ready for a night of culture, creativity, and spooky fun as the 16th Annual Día de los Muertos & Monster Party returns to CityArts Orlando.
Hosted by the Downtown Arts District, this vibrant celebration kicks off with an artist opening reception featuring two themed exhibits: one honoring the Mexican holiday with traditional ofrendas and catrina dolls, and another showcasing monster- and Halloween-inspired art by talented regional, national, and international artists.
Step outside onto Pine Street for a lively street party filled with delicious food, drinks, live entertainment, and spooky art vendors. It’s a one-of-a-kind night you won’t want to miss!
