Hao Nhu Tran, 51, was accused of contributing to delinquency of minors

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Charges will not be filed against a doctor who was arrested in connection with hosting a Winter Park house party where there was alleged underage drinking, court documents show.

In an Orange County court filing, the state of Florida said it will not file charged in the incident because “evidence at trial will not overcome one or more affirmative defenses.”

The filing said the case was closed.

Tran said she saw several minors drinking and instructed her son to ask them to leave by midnight, according to police.

The affidavit said she remained in her bedroom until she was called upstairs to check on a female who had passed out. The report also states that Tran recognized the signs of alcohol intoxication “due to being a physician” and called the minor’s mother, who then called 911.

Police said they found empty alcoholic beverage containers, including hard seltzer and Smirnoff cans, in the kitchen trash. Witnesses reported that some uninvited juveniles brought alcohol in backpacks, the affidavit states.

Police said the minor, who was hospitalized, was vomiting and barely coherent upon arrival.

Tran was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, allowing an open house party with underage drinking and selling or serving alcohol to those under 21.

She was booked into the Orange County Jail but has since bonded out.
