VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A Deltona man has again been arrested after scamming five customers out of over $200,000, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

In a release, deputies called the man — identified as Jeffrey Love, 56 — a “fraudulent boat builder,” saying he was hired to build custom airboats that were never delivered.

“A nine-month VSO investigation identified similar stores from all five victims,” the release reads. “Each hired Love to build them a custom airboat, each paid him thousands, and each got nothing in return but excuses and stall tactics.”

At the time, though, Love was already on probation from a previous arrest for a nearly identical scam, investigators added.

Alongside his new charges of grand theft and organized scheme to defraud, deputies said that Love faces charges of violating his probation and driving with a suspended license.

He is held with no bond, and the sheriff’s office announced that investigators are still trying to recover as much of the victims’ money as possible.
