Orlando police release sketch of person sought in sex battery case

Victim battered near area of Grand Street, Lee Avenue

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orlando Police Department released a sketch on Thursday to help identify a person who sexually battered someone last week in the Parramore neighborhood.

Investigators said a female victim, whose age was not relased, was attacked on Oct. 9 near the intersection of Lee Avenue and Grand Street.

Residents in the area said they woke up to a chaotic scene as police searched for evidence.

“The scene was crazy. All the neighbors were walking outside to see what happened,” said Paris Donald, who lives across the street from the bus stop where the attack occurred.

Donald said detectives knocked on her door around 1 a.m., shortly after the incident.

“They were banging on my door. There were like 10 sheriffs outside, an ambulance, lights all over the place,” she said. “They said someone got hurt.”

Another resident, Marsha Gilchrest, said she has since installed cameras on her home for protection.

“I don’t sit on my porch anymore since that happened,” Gilchrest said. “To protect myself, I put cameras around now.”

Neighbors said the area, which includes a nearby children’s center, has been shaken by the attack.

“There are kids here, right in front of the children’s center,” Donald said. “It’s really traumatic.”

No other information was released, including what time the attack occurred.

Anyone with information about the person depicted in the sketch or about the incident is asked to call Crimeline at 800-423-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information.

This is a developing story and will be updated with more information.
