SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – A Sumter County school staff member was arrested on allegations of having an “inappropriate relationship” with a 16-year-old student, according to the sheriff’s office.

Wildwood Middle High School officials were notified Wednesday by a concerned student of a relationship between Madelyn K. Mead, 26, and another student, the sheriff’s office said. The school district said she worked as a paraprofessional at the school and was employed since 2019.
