Escaped Sumter County inmate found hiding in pond, deputies say 39-year-old Joseph Brown located near CR-675

SUMTER COUNTY, Fla. – The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office said an inmate who escaped from a detention center in Bushnell on Sunday has been located.
The inmate, identified as 39-year-old Joseph Brown, left the Sumter County Detention Center off East Anderson Avenue at around 5 p.m., according to a news release.
Deputies later posted on social media around 10:53 p.m. saying that Brown was located in a pond near C.R. 675 and was taken into custody.
No other information was released.
