OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday will celebrate the expansion of Simpson Road in Osceola County.
The ceremony is set for 10 a.m.
The Simpson Road reconstruction project expands the roadway from two to four lanes from U.S. 192 to Osceola Parkway.
The project also added a grass median, shared-use paths, upgraded signals and improvements for both pedestrians and motorists.
The intersection of Fortune Road and Simpson Road was also enhanced with road widening, raised medians, more turn lanes, upgraded signals, bike lanes and pedestrian pathways.
Phase 1 of the project was completed in September 2024.
With the help of the Florida Department of Transportation, the county received a $14 million grant for the project.
